Ovulation induction refers to medical intervention to approach a fertile patient with a metabolic or endocrine dysfunction that prevents her from ovulation. A correct diagnosis of anovulation should be made priorly. Additionally there are many instances in which a definitive cause of infertility couldn’t be determined even after the whole panel of explorations has been exhausted (“unexplained infertility”). Some of these situations may also respond favorably to “super-ovulation” methods.
We use hormonal manipulation techniques to counteract various metabolic and endocrine dysfunctions impeding fertility. A thorough discussion, evaluation and management plan will be detailed with each of our patients to establish an appropriate understanding as sometimes pregnancy cannot be achieved at the first attempt and a long-standing relationship provider-patient is essential.
