Semen analysis is an obligatory part of the initial evaluation of an infertile couple. You should know that about one third of the conceiving problems are due to male partner factors. There are many aspects of the semen analysis, which are taken into consideration and can variously affect the course of medical intervention. Most of them can be addressed through different techniques of artificial reproduction excepting azoospermia (complete absence of sperm cells from ejaculate), which is rare but requires sperm donor.
Sperm analysis is an easy and inexpensive exploration. We recommend to include it in the initial protocol in order to prevent unnecessary explorations on the female partner, which are much more extensive and may be also invasive and expensive.
