Pessary counseling and fitting is done when a surgical correction of uterine prolapse, urinary incontinence or other pelvic floor defects is deemed undesirable by the patient. There are many types of pessaries depending the nature and the extent of the defect to be corrected. Also the size fitting is important, as too large sizes may be uncomfortable while too small ones may not correct the defect.
Although we encourage you to take advantage of our provider’s expertise in pelvic floor reconstructions, should you chose a less invasive approach, we may address your needs appropriately with the condition of proper understanding of pessary role and usage.
